Red, White and Booze

Happy birthday America! Thank you for giving me an excuse to dress up to a theme. Because we all know I love a themed party. Especially this one. I go all out with the American flags and colors. It's hard though to dress up for it without looking too extreme. So I decided to steal one of my mother's top and go classic with white shorts. Next is the red bandana aka my headband and red sandal. Then I am completely red, white and blue. Well we are getting our party started here so I will keep this post short and say happy Fourth of July to y'all!

Ice, Ice Please

Right now in Portland, it is hotter than Channing Tatum in Magic Mike. Since I have been sweaty a lot, when going out for drinks tonight I needed to wear something that was breathable. Plus as you all know, I love dressing to the theme of the night. Clearly I put a lot of thought into my outfits. I knew we were getting drinks on the lake, so of course I had to wear my super light weight umbrella print tank. The shorts were a given because I am obsessed with them. They aren't little booty shorts, which don't work on me. This girlfriend has a booty on her and I don't want to walk around with it all hanging out. The sandals are just really comfortable and matched perfectly with the top. My hair on the other hand, took some dedication because it is really far too hot to be wearing my hair down. But I was really dedicated to this look, so I thought why not just embrace the heat for the night. Plus my drink cooled me down anyways. Well get ready for plenty more outfits that are perfect for really hot weather because it is not cooling down here any time soon!

Pulp It Up

Living in Portland, Oregon aka health capital USA, I feel like I have an obligation to try and eat quality healthy food on a regular basis. As much as I love French fries and ice cream, I have to try and squeeze in some healthy food in my diet every once in a while. Also, my boyfriend is totally into that healthy eating craze. So when he suggested to take me to breakfast, I couldn't pass it up because I looked up the restaurant and it looked pretty amazing. The restaurant is called Canteen and they have all vegan stuff which is right up my alley because I am a vegetarian. Once I saw the menu I automatically knew what I wanted to get. A ginger shot was a must because I like the burn, then my smoothie was called tropical greens. The smoothie had kale, spinach, coconut oil, pineapple, orange and agave. I absolutely love putting vegetables in my smoothies because it makes it that much more nutritious. As for food, I had a parfait that had granola, blueberries, strawberries and cashew cream. I was definitely extremely full after eating all of this food. This was a good substitute for my typical breakfast of lucky charms. He might be changing my eating habits a little. But anyone who wants amazing vegan healthy smoothies, juices or meals, should go to Canteen. You will thank me for it after.

Invite Only

I have always loved watching movies. It's always been a tradition of mine to go to any movie that comes out on my birthday because that's just a special thing when that happens. So when I heard that Trainwreck (I am a huge Amy Schumer fan) comes out the day before my birthday, I was beyond excited to see it what made this even sweeter was when I was invited to go to an advanced screening of the movie. It just happened to fall on our date night, so it was a no brainier that we were going to end up at the theater. But I am not a fan of paying for over priced movie theater popcorn. So being the rebel I am, I made some sage butter popcorn and brought a huge purse to sneak it in the theater in. My boyfriend is obsessed with my sage butter popcorn, so it was by his request that it was that kind of popcorn that I made. The recipe is just butter melted on the stove with sage leaves in it while the butter melts you also want to make sure that you brown the butter because it makes it just so much more amazing. Well it being an advanced screening and that fact that I don't want to be kicked out for having my phone out, I will end this post at that!

Urban Tribal

So I am the kind of person that looks at a restaurants website before I go there, because being the indecisive person that I am, I need time to choose what I want. I also look at what the restaurants looks like then match my outfit to the restaurant. I know that is super weird, but I love a themed night. Also it was 100 degrees outside so I needed to dress appropriately. That being said, I just got these super comfortable shorts that I am semi obsessed with. So it was easy to choose these shorts. As for my top, I had to go into the depths of my closet to find something to wear. But I was in luck and found this top that I haven't worn in forever. I am now in love with this outfit and it will be worn again in the near future.
