Slice of the Sun

My motto this summer is, when life gives you lemons, wear them! This is one of the many things I am currently obsessed with is the lemon print. It's really easy to match other pieces too and feels breezy and cool. I haven't worn lipstick in a hot minute, so I decided why not give it a go today and really glam up this look. Plus it matches my red shoes because I  just that type A personality and everything has its purpose. The white jeans were brought out today because it is getting a little cooler here in Portland. But it's not cool enough outside to wear my hair down. So I spiced up the ponytail a little bit and had a tiny braid wrapped around where my hair twisty is. It is easy to say this look was a huge hit around the town today. Now let the weekend commence! 

Cooking Night Off

Guess what's for dinner again at the boyfriend's house! Of course pasta, because it's his specialty and he has mastered his red sauce recipe. It's also nice to be spoiled every once in a while and have him cook for a change. This red sauce is life changing though. He adds so many fragrant spices and herbs to it, so the entire kitchen just smells amazing. Which makes me even more hungry than I already was. What I really appreciated was the genius addition of porcini mushrooms, black olives, walla walla onions and fresh oregano. If that doesn't make your mouth water, then schedule a doctors appointment ASAP to have your sense of smell checked. For dessert we got a chocolate rum mousse concoction from New Seasons. I am beyond excited to try it because it has two of my favorite things. Chocolate and rum. It doesn't get much better than that. To top off the night we are drinking white wine as usual.  Now you know who is in charge of pasta night. And it's not me anymore! 

Back of the Closet

Happy hump day everyone! So last night I had a huge family dinner since it is the month or Ramadan. We have dinners a few times a week that the entire family is invited to, which is a lot of people. With that many dinners, I have been running out of outfit ideas for them all! But I forgot that I had this little gem in my closet that I haven't worn in a long time. So I had to bring it out and brush the dust off of it. The color completely matches the season because it's bright and vibrant. I decided to pair it up with a light blue statement necklace that I borrowed from my mom. As for the shoes, I wore sandals because I wanted to be in something comfortable. Well I will keep this post short because I have another one going up later today! 

Colorful Butterfly

Happy Sunday night y'all! Tonight I had the most amazing Vietnamese dinner at my boyfriend's grandparents' house. That being said, Oregon still thinks that it is the Sahara desert here. So I needed to wear something flowy but also that was fun for this occasion. I can never go wrong with this little number that I wore. It's really breathable and also extremely comfortable. The only odd thing was that I was the only person wearing color tonight. No joke, everyone else decided to wear black. So I just felt like a little caterpillar that came out of my cocoon as a very colorful butterfly. My shoes are also a hit because let's get real, they are just cool and amazing. I'm not ready for Monday, but it's going to happen whether I like it or not. So I hope everyone had a great start to their week, because I definitely did!
